Ohh Deer Cushions

Hello,
I don't know if you remember but a while ago I posted about my competition entries for the Ohh Deer Pillow fight competition. You could submit two design for cushions here are the ones I came up with.

Originally they were going to choose four winners to have there work produced and added to there collection of cushions available to buy online. But they changed this slightly after putting some extra hard work in the Ohh Deer team have made everyone's entries available to purchase online for a three week period. After this they will go on to choose the most popular.

They're Vegan & made with a super soft faux suede and come complete with the fibre insert. They're completely machine washable & handmade in the UK. Each cushion has a stone coloured back cover & a zip fastening. They measure 43x 43cm If you would like to order one of my designs there are the links for them both. These would make great Christmas presents!

20 Crafty Makes

Hello,
A while back on Facebook I saw a post about some lovely people putting together a craft book in aid of the wonderful charity Stroke Association called 20 Crafty Makes

They were wanting people to submit there craft projects, I thought I would give it a shot not expecting to hear anything back. I got to work making one of my more simple but effective projects taking step by step photo's & scribbled down some brief instructions that I emailed over to them.

A week later I got a lovely email letting me know they had chosen my project & included some more information about what would be happening next with the design of the book. I am so excited to see the final book finished I think it would make a fantastic Christmas present & it is all in aid of a fantastic charity! The book will be available as a printed or PDF copy. If you would like to reserve a printed copy you can do so by sending an email to - 20craftymakes@gmail.com

Sneak peek of a project in the book by Samantha

You can also follow the Crafty Makes team on Twitter & Facebook to keep up to date with news on the book they have been sharing sneak previews of some projects & makers.

I will be sure to keep you all updated with news of the book!

Letters

Hello,
A while ago I received an order from a lovely lady called Deanna who lives all the way in Australia. She ordered three 3D letters two of them she wanted covering in wonder woman comic & the other in a story book - I choose Cat in the Hat. (F,H,K)

Deanna explained these were the last three letters she needed to complete her collection of A-Z and that she was going to have them displayed in her baby girls nursery. She kindly sent over some photos so I could see, I think she has done an amazing job! Such a fun idea!

I love seeing photo's of my handmade things in there new home so if you have any I would love to have a look - roobarbgifts@hotmail.co.uk

Thanks so much Deanna for sharing Poppy Lulu's gorgeous nursery with us.

Yorks Bakery Cafe!

Hello,
After our crazy weekend we still had to get up early on Monday to take my sister back down to Birmingham to start her new job. I went along for the ride and to give her a hand moving all her stuff into her new accommodation

After all the hard work she took us for a walk to go and visit Yorks Bakery Cafe to see where she would be working & for a much needed coffee!

They have just opened the independent artisan bakery & coffee shop and have done a great job fitting it out. If you are in the Birmingham area I would definitely recommend a visit. We had a lovely coffee & a scrummy sandwich mine was called the "Jack Nicholson" - Made with semi sourdough bread, Serrano ham, blue cheese, gherkins & mayo (absolutely gorgeous)

We did buy some bread to take home with us but ended up eating it on the way home whilst stuck in traffic!

You can follow Yorks Bakery Cafe on Twitter & Facebook. I am already looking forward to my next visit!

Not dropped off the end of the earth... honest!!

Hello, Sorry it has been so long since I last blogged I have had a strange couple of months with lots of ups and downs, but finally feel like things are getting back to normal.

In my last post I mentioned the VW Festival well it feels like it has come around so quickly as we are heading off in the morning. We have got the car packed, some sandwiches made & not forgetting a couple of cans of cider!

I have had a crazy week preparing for the show a few problems cropped up along the way like my sewing machine breaking down mid sewing pile (Huge pile) and ordering the wrong sized badges for my machine. Everything is sorted now though. Me & Sophie are so excited to go and put our new tent up!! Here are a few sneak peeks of what to expect from our stand this weekend.

Hope some of you can visit. Don't forget to say hello if you do :)
